A waking night Residential Support Worker role in a small children's home supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs.

About the role

This is a waking night position within a four-bed children's home. You will provide a calm, consistent overnight presence, support young people who find nights difficult, and make sure the home is safe and ready for the morning routine. You will work alongside a settled day team and a supportive management structure.

Key responsibilities

Provide overnight supervision and emotional support to young people.

Respond calmly to incidents and follow individual care and risk plans.

Complete accurate overnight records, handovers and safeguarding reports.

Carry out health and safety and security checks across the home.

Essential requirements

Experience of working with children or young people in a care, education or support setting.

A calm, consistent approach and a genuine interest in trauma-informed practice.

Willingness to complete the Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare if not already held.

Right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Desirable requirements

Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare.

Experience of key working or of Ofsted-regulated settings.
